C series delayed

As predicted by virtually everyone except Bombardier themselves the maiden flight of the new C series regional jet has been delayed by six months. (see BTN 29 October)

If it does fly prior to the Paris Air Show next year there will be no shame, Airbus and Boeing having been very late with recent inaugural flights.  Future sales will very much depend on the service introduction and technical performance.  As things stand initial deliveries for the 138 aircraft currently on order will begin before the end of 2014 with Lufthansa subsidiary Swiss the lead carrier.  There are two models presently offered, one with a maximum 125 seats (CS100) and the other 145 (CS300).

The cabin mock-up displayed at various air shows offered a 2+2 and 3+2 layout with the middle seat wider. http://cseries.com/en
