The £10m hotel next to the Harp House Roundabout will provide high quality and convenient facilities for airport passengers and staff, as well as local business users and restaurant diners. The striking 129 room property is just a few minutes’ walk from Southend Airport’s terminal and railway station.
The five-storey hotel has a magnificent, fully sound-proofed rooftop bar and restaurant, called the 1935 Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. It provides seating for up to 70 customers, plus an exclusive private dining room for 10 which is bound to become very popular for business gatherings and small private parties. Head Chef Kieran Moore brings 30-years of both Michelin and international experience to Southend. He trained under Marco Pierre White and has worked alongside Raymond Blanc.
The Holiday Inn Southend has a variety of spacious twin, double, family, interconnecting and specifically adapted rooms for wheelchair users. All are furnished to a high standard and the hotel also offers 28 Executive rooms and four luxurious King Superior rooms. The hotel is dog friendly. www.hisouthend.com
