IFTM (International French Travel Market) Paris Expo Porte de Versailles was the launch pad for a series of rebranding and product improvement by Air France.
AF keeps the 'La Premiere' offering for its long haul wide-bodied routes but the airline is now following standard practice with 'Voyageur' becoming ‘Economy’, 'Premium Voyageur' now ‘Premium Economy’, and 'Affaires' switching to ‘Business Class’.
Financially struggling and proud of its French heritage, nevertheless the airline is becoming more and more truly international with even, occasionally, English spoken as the first language. (“We were coming out of London”, the Cabin Services Manager explained!”).
Air France plans to have a common product across all its aircraft during 2014, as far as practical. www.airfrance.co.uk
