Novotel becomes Pullman

The familiar Novotel Hotel in London’s Euston Road, between St Pancras and Euston stations, has become a Pullman, after a major makeover.  It is the first of the upscale Accor brand in the UK, specifically designed for the business user.  The property features 312 rooms and also 17 spaces for events and business meetings, including the intimate and beautifully furnished 446-seat Shaw Theatre, available for arts and corporate use.

Christophe Vanswieten, COO Pullman Europe, said: “I’m delighted to announce that we are opening our first Pullman Hotel in the UK, a market that will play a key role in our expansion plans in the coming years.  Pullman has global brand awareness in progress, which we will build on in the UK, helping to grow Accor’s presence in the UK’s upscale market, ensuring that we have a hotel brand to suit any individual’s requirements – from budget, to luxury”.

The name “Golden Arrow” may sound odd initially for the main bar and restaurant. The train of that name left London from Victoria Station in years gone.  Its destination was of course Paris via Dover and Calais.  Today St Pancras is the departure point, to the French capital, and far quicker via Eurostar. www.pullmanhotels.com
