Air Nigeria shuts

Based at Lagos, Air Nigeria has shut down due to staff “disloyalty and environmental tension”, according to the carrier.

This is the latest round of a saga that started as Nigerian Eagle Airlines, became Virgin Nigeria and finally this short-lived carrier who introduced a Gatwick service in May.

Currently British Airways service the route with a daily daytime flight southbound (night return), and both Arik Air and Virgin Atlantic in the evening out of London, their northbound flights in daylight hours.  BA also offers the Nigerian capital Abuja.
