Terminal 5 exhibition

A stunning presentation by photographer Henry Reichhold has opened at Heathrow Terminal 5, displaying vast panoramas of London during the Diamond Jubilee.

The three-month-long exhibition, located before security in the Terminal 5 Expo Fine Art Gallery, features two huge 3 x 12.5m images of the Thames Pageant and the Jubilee Procession, enabling tens of thousands of passengers passing through the airport to reflect back on the summer's historic events.

The piece entitled 'Queen's Diamond Jubilee procession' (seen here) captures the extraordinary atmosphere as a huge cheering crowd, waving their arms and flags, surged forwards towards Buckingham palace a moment after the Royal drive past.  There is also a panorama from the top of the Shard, now Europe’s tallest building.

The Terminal 5 Expo Fine Art Gallery is one of the first art galleries to be located in an international airport.  It showcases the best of British culture and commerce and is designed to give an unexpected dimension to passenger journeys.

New York born Henry Reichhold spent time in both Cuba and Switzerland before settling in the United Kingdom.  Based in London, he is a photographer specializing in digital imaging and works with a large variety of mediums, ranging from mobile phones to high-resolution cameras. www.baa.com
