Baku booming

The Azerbaijan capital Baku is booming, some would say in spite of its being the host for this year’s European Song Contest.  Recent hotel openings have included The Four Seasons in June,  and Kempinksi and Sheraton late last year.

Joining these brands is the 243-room JW Marriott Absheron Baku under a management agreement with Yeni Absheron Oteli LLC.  The hotel overlooks Baku’s famed Azadliq Square and the Caspian Sea.

The JW Marriott brand is reserved for select luxury properties in key gateway cities and distinctive resort locations.  These elegant hotels offer accomplished travellers a luxury travel experience with a distinct sense of place that appropriately reflects the genuine flavour of their surroundings.

Located in Baku’s most prestigious neighbourhood, in the heart of the business, shopping and entertainment district, the new JW is just 25 minutes from Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The 243 guestrooms, including 15 Executive Studios and a Presidential Suite, offer exceptional comfort and stunning views of the Caspian Sea.  The 24-hour fitness centre features the hotel’s crowning glory – a rooftop indoor pool overlooking the sea. www.marriott.com
