On 11 July 2012 a brand new Virgin Atlantic A330 aircraft will depart Heathrow to Delhi. It will introduce part of a £100m investment programme designed to beat the best offered by its competition.
Key to the upgrade is a redesigned Upper Class cabin featuring what is claimed to be the longest bed in Business Class, an even more spacious and comfortable seat, an innovative touch screen entertainment system called JAM, unique mood lighting, new interior and GPRS connectivity. The AeroMobile system has been installed for airborne connectivity. The very popular lounge area has been redesigned to give a bar nearly 10ft long.
For many years an advocate of four-engined aircraft, Virgin is now replacing some of its A340s with A330s, three of which have been delivered. The new Upper Class kit is also to be progressively installed in the airline's 14 Boeing 747s. www.virgin-atlantic.com
