Birmingham to Stockholm

SAS Scandinavian Airlines is to launch a new direct route from Birmingham to Stockholm with operations starting on 29 October 2012.  SAS will be offering one flight a day to Stockholm from Birmingham, every day of the week except Saturdays using a 120-seat 737-600 aircraft.  Flight time is around 2hrs 30mins in a two-class aircraft.

Hans Dyhrfort, SAS Regional General Manager for the UK, Ireland & Iceland, said: “We are delighted to announce the expansion of our operations from UK’s second largest city – with 8 million people living within 60 minutes of the airport, Birmingham is an important area of development for us.

We now serve Stockholm directly from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and now Birmingham closing up the geographic gap that we had in the area.  This is giving us the opportunity to better serve West/East Midlands businesses as well as leisure communities.” www.flysas.com
