GTMC figures and a change

The Guild of Travel Management Companies’ (GTMC) Chief Executive, Anne Godfrey has announced that she will be leaving the organisation this summer to take up the role of Chief Executive at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Godfrey, who has been at the GTMC since October 2009, is seen as a change management specialist in the field of membership organisations.

Since her appointment to the CEO role at the GTMC she has overseen a restructure of the organisation’s membership – both from a membership and industry partner’s perspective – and has grown member and sponsor revenues, restructured the staff and office accommodation and repositioned the GTMC Overseas Conference, which has seen delegate satisfaction increase dramatically.  Additionally she has driven a political lobbying programme that has made the GTMC the voice of the business travel world to Westminster.

On the business front GTMC members report that air ticket sales returned to growth in April with an increase of almost 8% in unique transactions and an 11% increase in value.  The overall BSP figures in April showed TMCs outperforming the overall market in what appears to have been a good month. www.gtmc.org
