Gatwick to Port of Spain non-stop

Caribbean Airlines is set to commence direct London to Trinidad service on 14 June.

The former BWIA West Indies Airways, which now includes Air Jamaica, has its main hub at Piarco International Airport (POS).  For the new operation a former LAN Boeing 767-300ER is being acquired, configured 30 Business Class and 191 in Economy.

Initially the service will be four times a week but with the arrival of a second ex-LAN aircraft the airline plans to step up the route to daily by introducing a three times a week operation via Bridgetown, Barbados.  It will compete with British Airways who offer a daily four-class Boeing 777 service on the route via either Grenada or St Lucia adding about two hours to the eight hour flight time. www.caribbean-airlines.com
