Virgin and South Africa

Cape Town is being added by Virgin Atlantic on a daily basis, to its South Africa programme from 5 November.  It will bring competition to British Airways.

Three-class Boeing 787-9 is the choice for the returning route with 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy Delight, Classic and Light seats for the 11hr plus flight.

The new winter flights run until 24 March 2023 and will complement the existing year-round daily service to Johannesburg.

Always a popular destination Cape Town features Robin Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, now a World Heritage Site. Some may wish to challenge their adventurous side by riding the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for sweeping views of the city. Besides fine beaches the city is also the gateway to the Cape Winelands, the country’s top region for wine tasting tours.
