AND FINALLY: Isles of Scilly - Another route

In September 2019, 58-year-old Cornishman Mark Richards became the first man to swim from Land's End to the Isles of Scilly. The 28-mile dip took him a total of 19hrs 48mins and he even saw dolphins along the way, but the stretch did not come without its challenges.

He told The Cornishman: "Unlike the English Channel the tides are much more complicated so some of the time the tide is actually against you and pushing you back in the direction you came from."
