CAA November airport stats

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has published the November passenger figures for all British airports.  The full annual numbers are expected later this week.

Overall the total numbers for all reporting airports showed a drop of 91% from 2019 with 1,739,288 passengers transiting, compared with 19,983,314 in what was a record year.

The London airports suffered badly, particularly the two smallest, Southend and London City. both down by around 98% with just 1,190 and 7,934 passengers respectively.

Gatwick was down 97% (101,945 v 2,965,844), Luton 91% (106,894 v 1,142,045) and Stansted, catering for much the same holiday traffic, also 91% (160,991 v 1,887,916).

With the other leading British airports, Manchester was down 91% 166,002 v 1,827,028), Birmingham 93% (54,915 v 810,622) and Edinburgh (71,664 v 999,652) by the same percentage points.  Aberdeen, partly sustained by offshore rig activity, sustained a 75% drop (53,310 v 217,174).
