With cruising currently frozen, and a major loss to airlines, this week’s International Cruise Summit is a vital gathering for all.
It nominally takes place in Madrid as a hybrid event Tuesday and Wednesday this week (1/2 December).
The congress has adapted its schedule to accommodate time zones in the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, South America and many other countries, in order to allow maximum participation from around the world.
During the two days, several presentations, interviews and round table panels will debate the return of operations, new cruise company strategies, excursions and destinations, new investments, fleet modifications and the way to restore consumer confidence.
This year, no less than seven Presidents and CEOs of some of the most important cruise companies in the world are included in the line-up of participants, making this event one of the strongest yet.

In my view, a cruise is the finest form of travel one can find, at least the cruise I took from Paris to Paris via Le Havre on the Seine. Amawaterways, I think. Truly first-class, two French captains, a fine East European crew, excellent choices for three mails plus a buffet on the upper deck for lunch and late-night supper. Side visits, the whole nine yards.
