Israel’s national flag carrier, El Al, traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, remains grounded until at least 31 August. What will happen in terms of flights due to the breakthrough in diplomatic relations between Israel and some of its Gulf neighbours (see in this week’s BTN) remains to be seen.
Due to the special circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the Israeli Ministry of Health prevents entry into Israel by non-Israeli/foreign citizens from a number of countries although Tel Aviv is still served from the UK with limited flights by British Airways, easyJet and Wizz.
El Al subsidiary Sun d'Or flights are also suspended until 31 August.
All tickets for cancelled flights are currently frozen, and the airline says that booked passengers will be able to use them in the future.
At present Israir connects the new Ramon Airport (ETM) at Eilat to Ben Gurion (TLV) twice daily Sunday to Thursday, a single flight on Friday, and is closed Saturday.
