First in Europe for Wyndham La Quinta
The arrival of the La Quinta by Wyndham brand in Europe was being celebrated last week by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts with the opening of the 404-room La Quinta by Wyndham Istanbul Gunesli.
It is also the first time the group, which, with more than 9,200 hotels and 20 brands in 80-plus countries, claims to be the world’s largest hotel franchising company, has brought the brand to travellers outside the Americas.
Wyndham acquired La Quinta’s hotel franchise and hotel management businesses in 2018 to build on its family of hotel brands and offerings, with immediate plans to introduce the brand to key markets worldwide,
The new arrival has 404 rooms and is easily accessible from Istanbul International Airport and the city’s Expo Centre. Facilities include more than 1,500sq m of meeting space spread across eight meeting rooms and a ballroom.
Wyndham regional managing director Dimitris Manikis said: “We are thrilled to welcome La Quinta and its long-standing reputation for quality to Europe and expand our brands in an important market like Turkey.
“With more than 13m international visitors in 2018 alone and its variety of business opportunities plus historical and cultural sites, Istanbul is one of the world’s most attractive cities for us.”
