Charter and cargo specialist Jota Aviation, based out of Southend Airport, has become the latest member of Airlines UK, the association that represents UK-registered carriers.
Jota operates a fleet of passenger and cargo BAe146 and Avro RJ aircraft available on ACMI or charter basis. The company has a 24/7 flight operations department for rapid response aircraft services.
CEO Andy Green said: “Airlines UK is a valuable alliance as a forum for airlines to work together towards a common goal. There are many challenges facing the industry and the collaborative approach it takes is useful, if not essential.
“We have already taken part in useful working groups focusing on the unique set of circumstances for UK-based airlines and it has been a huge benefit for us to understand the issues in detail and to address the challenges ahead in collaboration.”
Airlines UK CEO Tim Alderslade added: “We’re pleased to be welcoming another non-scheduled UK airline and Jota is a fascinating company and a real British success story. We are sure it will play a big part in strengthening our voice and common messaging.”
