Colonel Omer Bar-Lev, former commander of Israeli special forces, former leader on security issues in the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, and a participant in the Entebbe Raid in July 1976, is to be keynote speaker at the ACI Europe Security Summit in Tel Aviv next month.
Omer Bar-Lev: Teaching the lessons of Entebbe.
As previewed earlier this year (BTN 3 June), the summit, hosted by the Israel Airports Authority (IAA), will bring together senior airport security experts, agencies and senior administrators in Tel Aviv to address security issues now facing airlines.
The event takes place at the Dan Hotel Tel Aviv on 17-19 September with presentations from top airport security experts and leading security technology companies.
Also included is a two-day showcase of the latest technologies, services and solutions safeguarding the security and safety of air transport.
The IAA is expected to showcase the recently opened Ramon International Airport (ETM) near Eilat in the south of the country, which is rumoured to incorporate some of the most sophisticated airport security systems yet seen.
