Aviation minister presents

Tuesday 2 July sees the newly appointed aviation minister Baroness Vere delivering a keynote speech on the future of the air transport industry.  The "only-by-invitation" event takes place on the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons.

Sponsored by Nigel Huddleston MP, the occasion is hosted jointly by the cross-industry associations Airlines UK, Airport Operators Association, ABTA, BAR-UK, IATA and Sustainable Aviation.

Since replacing the popular Baroness (Lizz) Sugg at the end of last month (see BTN 29 April) Charlotte Vere has been busying herself getting to know the industry and was last week in Glasgow discussing the problem of pre and inflight drinking.

The event is seen as an industry opportunity to meet with key industry, Parliamentary and Government stakeholders.  It will also be a chance for MPs to learn more about some of the effort and innovation the sector is leading across the area of sustainability, as it works towards delivering cleaner, quieter and smarter air travel now and into the future.
