More than a decade after opening, Sofitel London Heathrow, part of the Arora Hotels portfolio, has shown it is still a force in the global market after being named Best Hotel in Europe at the Skytrax World Airport Awards for the third time.
As well as achieving the European award, the property was also named one of the top three best airport hotels in the world. General manager Ryan Nicholls praised his team for the achievement.
“I am remarkably proud (of them) and this prestigious award only goes to show the incredible and consistent effort that they have put in,” he said. “We pride ourselves, as a business, on providing the highest level of service excellence for every guest who walks through our doors.”
Director of hotel operations Vincent Madden added: “To be awarded the Best Hotel in Europe title after a decade of Sofitel London Heathrow is a sensational and only-fitting achievement.”
This year’s Skytrax awards also saw Heathrow Terminal 5 voted the world’s best, with Terminal 2 fourth best (BTN 1 April), and London City (LCY), named world’s best airport in the category for up to 5m passengers a year (BTN 1 April).
