BLUE WINGS (QW), a Dusseldorf-based charter airline, has ceased operations after the German authorities had revoked its licence. Established operationally in 2003 it had a fleet of eight Airbus A320 series with Russian former KGB officer Alexander Lebedev holding 48% via a Zurich-based company. Blue Wings other shareholders are Cyprus-based Nondwell Investment Ltd and the carrier's Chief Executive Joern Hellwig with a stake of 26% each.
