Montreal Four Seasons names the day

An official opening date of 1 June has been set for Montreal’s newest luxury hotel, the 169-room Four Seasons in the city’s Golden Mile Square, a 10min walk from the Bell Centre sports and entertainment complex.

The building is 5min by car from the nearest rail station and 20min from Montreal International Airport, with officials noting it is ideally located for international visitors and business travellers.

The 169-room count includes 19 suites and will range from Superior and Deluxe standard, with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Golden Square Mile, to Premier Carré Doré and Premier Rooms, with glass doors to bathrooms containing free-standing tubs.

Other features include a spa and state-of-the-art fitness centre, an indoor pool with skylight and a large ballroom with outdoor terrace.

Food and drink options are led by the Macus restaurant and bar, the first Canadian venture by international chef Marcus Samuelsson. It has been designed by Atelier Zébulon Perron of Montreal, which also created the hotel’s reception and lobby area as a series of indoor and outdoor social spaces.

The opening is part of a worldwide expansion by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which has nine openings planned this year in top destinations including California’s Napa Valley, Athens and Madrid.
