More flights for Aberdeen – Riga

Summer is set to last longer at Aberdeen this year after Latvia flag carrier airBaltic said it was increasing its flight schedule between the Scottish airport and Riga to include the months of April and September.

The service last year was from early May to just after the end of August but passengers this summer will be offered the Tuesday and Saturday flights beginning on 2 April and running until 28 September.

Aberdeen Airport managing director Steve Szalay said: “The route is in its third year of operation and the extension equates to a 40% increase in the number of flights than last year.

“We’ve been working closely with airBaltic during the past three years and the Riga route has established itself as a firm favourite. We look forward to welcoming them all to our new and improved terminal this summer.”

AirBaltic SVP for network management Wolfgang Reuss added: “The route has shown good results since we launched it in 2017, and this year we are listening to the wishes we hear from our passengers and extending the operating season.”
