Flybe adds to Edinburgh route
Another daily return flight is being added to the Edinburgh – Heathrow route by Flybe with effect from the start of its 2019 summer schedule on 31 March next year.
It increases the choice of flights to five a day on weekdays and Sundays and four on Saturdays, which the airline says will boost the route by another 56,000 seats a year.
Chief commercial officer Roy Kinnear said: “Scotland is a significant market for Flybe and our Edinburgh – Heathrow route has grown from strength to strength since its 2017 launch.
“The extra daily flight will offer a better spread of frequency across the day, with the added benefit of also improving connectivity with our long-haul codeshare partners operating out of Heathrow.
“This is another example of Flybe’s ongoing commitment to connecting regional communities and providing a convenient service to and from major hub airports, giving customers seamless onward access to destinations across the world.”
Flybe is still awaiting further news about its future after putting itself up for sale last month (BTN 19 November) following a 54% drop in pre-tax profits in the half-year to the end of September.
