AND FINALLY: What’s in a name?

In addition to hosting a suitably lavish gathering at the British Museum a few weeks ago (BTN 1 October), Korean Air had a fresh take on its 30th anniversary celebrations.

During its three decades in the UK, the airline has had 14 UK & Ireland regional managers.

Against all odds, six had the surname Kim and five had the surname Lee.

The tradition is being upheld by the current regional manager UK & Ireland, Jong Rae Kim, who has held the position since 2016.

Talking of anniversaries, Korean Air’s airport manager Allan Lambert has also been celebrating 30 years with the airline – since the UK service started. He is followed closely by sales manager Peter Barron, who joined in 1995.

I've worked with both Allan Lambert and Peter Barron, and found it a pleasure with them both. The local cement that binds the links abroad.
