AOA gains Grayling

The annual conference, exhibition and awards dinner of the Airport Operators Association (AOA) takes place on 29-30 October at County Hall, Westminster, with transport secretary Chris Grayling heading a list of almost two dozen top-level speakers.

After a welcome from AOA chairman Ed Anderson, the event will begin with a keynote speech by Grayling followed by an address by shadow minister for aviation Karl Turner.

The afternoon session will see a keynote address from immigration minister Caroline Nokes, while day two begins with a keynote speech by NATS CEO Martin Rolfe on the airspace of the future.

Another feature of the second day will be two “Big Interviews” with two leading women in the industry, Heathrow’s executive director expansion Emma Gilthorpe and Flybe CEO Christine Ourmières-Widener.

Panel discussions over the two days include a session with the recent “new faces” on the UK airport scene including the heads of AGS Airports, Derek Provan: Bristol Airport, David Lees; East Midlands Airport, Karen Smart, and Liverpool Airport, John Irving.

Other sessions will cover the state of the aviation market, the passenger experience, sustainable airports and the workforce of the future. Details of all speakers and the full agenda are on the conference website.
