In a further boost to its London City Airport (LCY) presence, BA CityFlyer is to add extra winter frequencies on the Berlin, Dublin and Prague routes from 10 November and to Geneva from December and launch a three-a-day service to Munich from 16 February 2019.
In further expansion, the airline is also launching direct flights between Heathrow and Japan’s second largest city, Osaka, with a four-times-weekly service taking off from 31 March 2019.
At LCY, return flights to Berlin will go up to 18 a week, Dublin to 38 a week, Prague to seven a week and Geneva to 16 a week, while the new Munich service means BA CityFlyer will offer four German routes from London City including Berlin, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt.
Initial expansion by BA CityFlyer at LCY was announced in August with the airline adding four new aircraft to its fleet there as well as starting a new daily service to Rome and adding a fifth daily year-round service to Zurich (BTN 3 September).
At Heathrow, the new Osaka flights into Kansai International Airport will take the number of daily flights between London and Japan offered as part of British Airway’s joint business venture with Japan Air Lines to 32 per week.
