Cheers from Delta and Virgin

A pop-up pub with 230 American craft beers on offer and US-themed quiz nights with flights as prizes is being opened in London next Friday, 10 August, by Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines.

Delta is also busy at home with plans to offer its Delta One suites with sliding doors and upgraded Premium Select seating on five more flights across the Pacific starting in 2019.

In London, the Joint Venture pub, named for the two carriers’ business partnership, will replace The Old Crown in Holborn between 10 and 19 August to give Londoners a taste of the 200-plus US destinations served by the airlines.

Virgin Atlantic senior vice-president for marketing Claire Cronin said: "What better way to bring people together than over a beer, or better still 230 beers? We are bringing a taste of the US to London to show off our destinations.”

• Delta’s trans-Pacific development will see it offer its Delta One suites and upgraded Premium Select seating on five more routes from next year. They are Atlanta – Tokyo Narita, Minneapolis St Paul – Tokyo Haneda, Seattle – Tokyo Narita, Los Angeles – Tokyo Haneda, and Los Angeles – Sydney.

Delta is promoting the Delta One and Premium Select options as key components of its flagship Airbus A350-900s.
