The second Club Aspire-branded lounge in the UK has opened at Gatwick’s North Terminal under the auspices of the Airport Lounge Development (ALD) and Swissport partnership.
Located airside within the Lounge Pavilion, it brings the Club Aspire formula to Gatwick for the first time to meet increased demand for premium lounges at one of the UK’s busiest airports.
The partners say the 4,000sq ft facility has been completely refurbished “to deliver maximum comfort and luxury for frequent fliers”, with rest, refresh and work zones to suit the needs of different travellers.
A new bar has a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, while an extensive hot food menu, including the Club Aspire cooked breakfast, will be on offer.
ALD airport lounge development director Errol McGlothan said: “Today’s travellers expect modern, comfortable environments, personalised experiences, and unrivalled food and drink options.
“As the demand for premium, shared-use lounges grows globally, we’re excited to continue to launch new facilities with our partner, Swissport, to deliver the experience today’s passengers have come to expect.”
The new lounge follows the launch of a Club Aspire at Heathrow Terminal 3 in 2016, and Gatwick opening a £2m airline lounge-style area in North Terminal for passengers needing special assistance (BTN 30 July).

Not sure if the photo in this artical is ill-judged but as a lounge that looks both uncofmortable and really rather dull. I hope the reality is better.
