More than 1,200 new permanent and fixed-term cabin crew positions, over half of which will be based in the UK, are being offered by easyJet in a new recruitment drive.
The positions at the airline, which flies more than 300 aircraft on 1,000-plus routes in 33 countries, are at some of its largest bases across Europe and offer high-quality training and opportunities for career development.
The announcement follows and is in addition to the launch of easyJet’s cabin-crew apprenticeship scheme, offering 25 apprentices a year-long programme combining training at easyJet’s Gatwick academy and on-the-job experience (BTN 16 July).
New recruits will complete a series of online pre-coursework tasks and then undertake three weeks of thorough practical demonstrations in areas such as safety procedures, aviation security and first aid. EasyJet’s onboard teams include three flight attendants and a cabin manager.
Meanwhile, easyJet has launched its first flight from Southend Airport to Bordeaux. The route, operating three times a week, is the first of four – Prague, Pula and Dubrovnik are the others – to launch this summer and will be supported by the arrival of a new aircraft at the base.
