Denver in the spotlight

United Airlines has inaugurated its non-stop seasonal service between Heathrow and its Colorado hub at Denver International Airport with a daily operation.

Passengers and guests on the flight, which will continue until 27 October, were seen off by the airline’s vice-president Atlantic and Pacific sales, Marcel Fuchs, managing director sales UK and Ireland Bob Schumacher and Denver International Airport CEO Kim Day.

Schumacher said: “Our new flight strengthens our international route network and provides our UK customers with greater travel choice, with more than 50 non-stop connections from Denver to other destinations across the US, Mexico and Canada.”

Flight times are 9hr 50min westbound and 9hr eastbound with the service operated by the Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner. The United aircraft has a total of 219 seats, with 36 flat-bed models in United’s new Polaris business class, 70 in Economy Plus with added legroom and increased personal space and 113 in Economy.

The first phase of the Polaris product features what United calls an elevated inflight food and beverage experience, custom bedding from Saks Fifth Avenue and exclusive amenity kits with products from Soho House & Co.
