In a new development in the “Worldwide by easyJet” programme launched a few weeks ago (BTN 9 October), flights by Loganair have now gone on sale on the Luton-based airline’s website.
The “Worldwide” initiative is the first global airline connections service of its kind, and offers stand-alone flights from partner carriers with complementary networks.
Booking Loganair flights via the easyJet site will enable easyJet passengers to book onward flights, for example from Glasgow and Edinburgh, with Loganair to Scotland’s Highlands and Islands.
Meanwhile, easyJet is following the industry standard by introducing new hold bags to provide customers with more choice and flexibility. A new 15kg bag, ideal for shorter trips, will be available, starting from £8.99, and passengers can now also take more in their hold bag by extending the standard bag weight to 23kg.
The airline is the latest to take measures to try to limit the number of heavy bags being taken on-board as hand luggage.
EasyJet says the new options mean passengers on short breaks no longer need to squeeze everything into a small cabin bag, while those on longer journeys can increase their hold bag allowance by an extra 3kg.
