Keyless cars for hire

Goldcar, the major European mainland car rental operator, has launched ‘Click'n Go’, a digital system for hiring and returning keyless cars. Users can pick up their rental vehicles by just using their mobile phones.

A Spanish company founded in 1985, Goldcar claims to be the first company to offer a car hire service without a key. It is now available in Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. 

CEO Juan Carlos Azcona said: "Connectivity and digitalisation are changing the paradigm of the tourism sector and at Goldcar we want to stay at the forefront of innovation, providing value-added services to the traveller.

"This revolutionary system is easy and comfortable for users, renting, paying and opening vehicles from their own mobile phones, making their travel experience much more fruitful."

Click'n Go is very simple. Clients receive the virtual key via the Goldcar app on their mobile, with the registration and the location of the identified vehicle. Bluetooth technology on a smartphone does the rest, allowing the connection of the vehicle to the client’s device.
