TAP heads for Docklands

A new service between Lisbon and London City Airport, with two daily flights from Monday to Friday and one daily flight on weekends, is being launched by TAP Portugal from 29 October.

The carrier will become the only operator between the two points and with the addition of the new service will be serving three airports in London, reinforcing its presence in the UK and offering passengers a wider choice of schedules and connections.

The new route will be operated with the Embraer 190 aircraft with seating for 106 passengers and will depart from Lisbon early morning and mid-afternoon, with return flights from LCY at mid-morning and early evening.

The addition of LCY to the schedules reflects an increase in demand on the London – Lisbon route, with the number of passengers carried in the first three months up by more than 20% compared with 2016.

The airline added that the new route would enable it to “take even more advantage of its Lisbon hub to connect the UK to its intercontinental network, reinforcing its strategic position on business traffic”.
