Qatar joins Dublin line-up

Daily non-stop flights between Dublin and Doha from 12 June next year are being launched by Qatar Airways using the Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft in a 254-seat configuration, with 22 seats in Business Class and 232 in Economy.

The service not only gives passengers from Ireland access to one of the Middle East’s main business centres but onwards to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations worldwide.

Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “Qatar Airways has seen unprecedented growth in recent times and continues to launch new destinations to enhance connectivity for our passengers. The launch of flights to and from Dublin is an exciting addition to our network.”

The new service was also welcomed by Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison, who said the airport looked forward to working with the airline to promote a development that would “bring extra choice and convenience for our passengers”.

The airport welcomed almost 24m passengers in the first 10 months of the year, a 12% increase over the same period in 2015. Dublin now has direct flights to more than 180 destinations in 40 countries on four continents.
