Marriott keeps on growing

Two divisions of Marriott International are continuing the hotel group’s expansion, led by the Luxury Collection, which has signed five flagship properties for the brand including the Wellesley and the Westbury in London.

Also new are Hôtel de Berri, in the heart of Paris; Cristallo Resort & Spa in Cortina, the first ski resort of the collection, and the Alexander in Yerevan, marking the brand’s debut in Armenia.

Marriott said: “These illustrious additions to the portfolio will further strengthen the brand’s presence in Europe, with 2017 on target to be another milestone year for the Luxury Collection.”

Meanwhile, Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott’s portfolio of one-of-a-kind properties, is also welcoming five newcomers. The brand was launched in 2010, and has grown from fewer than five hotels then to more than 100 today.

The newcomers include Roomers, which opened in October in Baden Baden, and the Watermark Baton Rouge, housed in the former Louisiana Trust and Savings Bank built in 1925 and the city’s first skyscraper.

Also joining are the French Leave Resort on Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas, which opens this month; the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, and La Ville Hotel & Suites in the City Walk development in Dubai.
