United’s LAX 'jewel'

The newest United Club has been unveiled by United Airlines at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airline described it as the jewel in its $573m project to refresh nearly all its customer-facing spaces in Terminal 7 and Concourse 8.

At more than 20,000sq ft, the LAX United Club is one of the airline’s largest and most stylish, with a gourmet kitchen and bar, seating areas conducive to working and lounging, and views of the airport, the Hollywood Hills and the Los Angeles skyline. The design also takes advantage of the city’s year-round weather, with a spacious and scenic outdoor terrace where passengers can relax with a cocktail or an al fresco meal.

United’s executive vice-president and chief commercial officer Julia Haywood said: “When you think of Los Angeles, you think of glamour and sophistication, and this new United Club certainly reflects that.”

As part of its terminal redevelopment at LAX, over the past few months United has opened a new Economy Class lobby, new baggage claim areas and installed a new security checkpoint with five state-of-the-art automated screening lanes.
