Ethiopian heads to Oslo

A new service of five scheduled weekly flights to Oslo via Stockholm from 26 March next year was announced last week by Ethiopian Airlines, probably the fastest-growing carrier in Africa, using the B787 Dreamliner.

Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam said: “Africa is enjoying an economic boom, resulting in growing trade, investment, business and tourism ties with Europe in general and Norway in particular.

“Ethiopian is pleased to provide the air connectivity that will serve as the engine for the continued growth of these relations. In addition, we will be able to offer efficient connections between Africa and central and Eastern Europe in co-operation with our Star Alliance partners.”

The inclusion of Oslo in the Ethiopian network is part of the airline’s Vision 2025 programme of connecting Africa with the major world economic and financial centres. GebreMariam said he wanted to thank everyone who had worked hard towards making the latest development possible.

Ethiopian’s Dreamliner is configured with 24 seats in Business Class and 246 in Economy, all of which are equipped with on-demand video monitors featuring a variety of entertainment options.
