Novotel previews Canary Wharf

Plans for the opening of the new Novotel Canary Wharf in London move up a gear this week with the launch of behind-the-scenes previews of the property, which will have 39 floors and offer 360deg views of the capital.

It will have 313 rooms, including 26 suites, and at 127m (417ft) is set to be one of the tallest buildings in the area and the world’s tallest Novotel. Meeting facilities include nine individually-designed rooms and breakout areas.

Novotel said the tours, conducted by Accor Hotels UK and Ireland senior vice-president Inge van Ooteghem, are designed to give industry observers the chance to see the striking building in the making before its scheduled public opening on 14 November.

Novotel Canary Wharf is one of 33 Novotels in the UK and more than 400 worldwide, offering 83,340 rooms across 61 countries.

The company says the property, which includes elements that have never before been executed in a Novotel, will “raise the bar in luxury, hotel design, innovation and sophistication”.

“As a new landmark for the Docklands and the world’s tallest Novotel, the property sets a new standard for the future vision of the brand,” van Ooteghem said. It is a truly innovative design.”
