Canada debut for Andaz hotels
Hyatt Hotel’s Andaz brand has made its official entry into Canada with the opening of the Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market. It is the 13th in the portfolio, which is concentrated on world gateway cities and resort destinations.
Three other Andaz hotels are planned to join the portfolio by the end of 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Delhi and on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico.
The Ottawa property is set in the heart of the historic ByWard Market area, which today has been transformed into an urban centre of boutiques, galleries, restaurants and nightlife.
General manager Matt Graham said one of the most distinctive features of the hotel will be a collaboration with local artists, musicians, designers and more to create events based on themes special to Ottawa through the brand’s signature Andaz Salon programme.
This is designed to highlight local culture and experiences in destinations where Andaz has a presence with events ranging from talks and lectures to exhibitions and live performances.
