Hainan Airlines president Jianfeng Sun, his counterpart at Spring Airlines, Stephen Wang, and China Southern senior-vice-president Guoxiang Wu are among top-level speakers appearing at a UK symposium on China-Europe air transport next month.
The event on 6 September at the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, University of Surrey, Guildford, is a collaboration between the university-based Centre for Aviation Research, whose director Zheng Lei, is also a speaker, and Midas Aviation.
Other invitees include UK Department of Transport head of international aviation Mark Bosly, Finnair vice-president global sales Mikko Turtiainen and VisitBritain director strategy and communications Patricia Yates.
Speakers will reflect on the Chinese aviation market being the fastest-growing in the world yet relatively untouched from a European perspective and with huge potential in the coming years – Boeing estimates some 25 new aircraft will be delivered to Chinese carriers alone every month until 2034.
The day will consist of a series of presentations from the guest speakers complemented by panel discussions to explore specific themes. The active participation of delegates will be encouraged through round-table discussions on specific issues alongside experts, and networking in breaks and at the evening reception.
The event is supported by OAG and World Routes 2016 Chengdu, China. 24 - 27 September 2016.
