Ten new Fearless Flyer courses aimed at helping potential passengers nervous of boarding an aircraft to overcome their fears have been announced for this autumn by easyJet in time for the October half-term and Christmas getaways.
The airline says around one in six people have a fear of flying, with “aerophobia” estimated to affect millions in the UK alone, a situation the two-day easyJet courses are designed to tackle.
The sessions, which include talks with phobia experts and pilots as well as a 1hr flight dedicated to the course on the second day, cost £189 per person, with the opportunity to take a companion on the flight for £69.
Easyjet group commercial director Peter Duffy said: “One of the main pieces of feedback we receive from previous participants is they wish they had taken the course sooner.
“We have a success rate of more than 95% and our Fearless Flyers, some of whom had never flown before taking the course, regularly send us snaps of themselves at various locations abroad.” Also see COMMENT in this issue.
