ABTA travel law seminar

Registration is open now for the ABTA-organised seminar Beginner's Guide to Travel Law being held in central Manchester on 17 November.

The one-day session will address latest developments in the field in a bid to ensure participants are fully up to date on the relevant legal issues for travel and will include a comprehensive, introductory-level overview and up-to-date guidance on practical essentials and how they apply to travel businesses.

The event is open to the travel community including directors, senior managers, legal, finance and commercial teams and customer service, sales and marketing and operations teams as well as ABTA members.

Speakers include two partners from the specialist legal firm Travlaw LLP, Matt Gatenby and Farina Azam, plus ABTA senior solicitor Susan Deer.

Deer explained: “The effective contracting, marketing and selling of travel services requires a good understanding of the law. Those in the industry can put their businesses at risk if they get it wrong.”

An update on consumer protection legislation and ATOL regulations, along with insights into the post-Brexit environment for travel, will be among topics to be covered.

Speakers will also address online trading and consumer protection regulations and give guidance on contracting and updating terms and conditions.
