Flybe drops Liverpool

The Flybe Liverpool to Amsterdam service will be dropped at the end of March.

The route was launched in September but the airline said that demand was not strong enough. The route competed with its own Manchester flights, and also those of easyJet and KLM.

"Regretfully, the Amsterdam service has failed to perform to expectations and passenger numbers remain insufficient to justify its continued operation," said the airline.

"All passengers who have booked flights online for the upcoming summer season will be contacted by Flybe in date priority order and offered a full refund or the option to be re-accommodated on an alternate flight.

Flybe will introduce a weekly Saturday flight to Newquay from 21 May and also serves Belfast City, Edinburgh and the Isle of Man from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.  www.flybe.com
