Boutique hotel chain Z Hotels has opened its fifth London property called Z City, actually in the City of London.
The 109-room hotel is situated on Fleet Street, between Aldwych and Ludgate Circus, directly opposite the Royal Courts of Justice, a short walk from Somerset House, Covent Garden Plaza and the West End theatres.
Z City is the group's seventh property with five in London, Z Soho, Z Piccadilly, Z Shoreditch and Z Victoria; and the Z Liverpool and Z Glasgow.
Unlike some properties (see Nadler in this issue) the “Z” concept includes the Z Café, boasted as a new concept in room service. “We don't come to your room, you come to ours.”
Walk into Z Café any time before 11:00 (or 11:30 at weekends) and you can kick-start your day with a buffet breakfast, offering a selection of croissants, cereals, bacon sandwiches, fresh fruit salad and natural yogurt, together with a choice of coffee and teas. During lunch Z has on offer a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads or salads. “And not a hint of pre-packaged, fast food, or chain-style menus in sight”. Complimentary cheese and wine between 17:00 and 19:00 each evening. Room rates start at £60. www.thezhotels.com
