Delta’s UK launches

In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines is gearing up for two important UK route introductions in the spring.

On 24 April the Atlanta-based carrier introduces for the first time a non-stop London to Salt Lake City service from Heathrow T4.  For the summer it is daily with an Main Cabin, Delta Comfort + and Delta One layout by Boeing 767-300, reducing to three times a week in the winter.  The Utah capital, headquarters of the Mormon Church, is also a popular ski destination.

Edinburgh to New York JFK starts on 27 May, the airline confirming it will be an all year around operation, daily in the summer reducing to four times per week in the winter.  A similar Boeing 757-200 will be used, also with a three class layout.

United Airlines is already established on the route but operates into Newark Liberty, the alternative New York airport on the other side of the Hudson River in New Jersey.  Delta believes that the majority of passengers will originate initially from the US side but is confident that the Virgin codeshare will work well out of Scotland.   www.delta.com
