The London Evening Standard reports that Richmond MP Zac Goldsmith is in a ‘quiet zone’ with regard to Heathrow.
Goldsmith had always been at the forefront of the campaign against airport expansion, even calling himself the “most outspoken and active campaigner against Heathrow’s plans for a third runway” last July. So much so that he had threatened to resign if the Tories were to go ahead with the third runway.
He is now silent, probably arguing that Heathrow is not currently relevant to his mayoral campaign. There have been no mentions of Heathrow on his Facebook page or Twitter feed. His official campaign website, meanwhile, contains only one very brief mention in his “Blueprint for Business”.
When contacted by The Standard’s diary column, Londoner Goldsmith’s office declined to comment, considering it a closed issue. www.zacgoldsmith.com

"Heathrow is not currently relevant to his mayoral campaign" ?? How pathetic. Weasel worded politicians again. I wish we had the likes of Sanders and Trump here rather than this shower.
