Want to fly to New Zealand?

Passengers from the UK to Auckland (New Zealand) will have an even greater choice from 1 March with the introduction of a daily non-stop flight by Emirates from Dubai to Auckland with an estimated flight time of under 16hrs.  It is 17hrs 15 mins in the other direction.  Boeing 777s will be used for the service. For A380 aficionados there is an alternative with a Sydney stopover.  From London the total travel time including a 1hr 20mins wait in Dubai is just 24hrs.  But as we shall explain it is not the quickest way.

The route from London to Auckland has been served by Air New Zealand for many years, and the carrier once offered an alternative via Hong Kong.  In terms of travel time (stopover shown in brackets) Singapore Airlines is fastest at just 23hrs 50mins (1hr Singapore), with Air New Zealand in the other direction 26hrs 30mins (2hrs Los Angeles).  

The Boeing 777-200LR aircraft that will operate the new, non-stop route are purpose-built for ultra-long-haul flights, carrying up to 266 passengers offering eight First Class suites, 42 lie-flat Business Class seats and 216 Economy Class. www.emirates.com
