Nairobi’s up-and-coming business district Upper Hill has welcomed its latest new hotel in the shape of the 271-room Radisson Blu.
As well as a Business Class lounge, the property, which has easy access to the airport, offers 14 suites and what Radisson describes as ‘one of the best-equipped and largest conference facilities in Kenya’.
Features include 12 meeting rooms with free high-speed wi-fi and the latest audio-visual technology, plus a spacious 590sq m ballroom for large-scale receptions, galas or other special occasions.
Guests have a choice of three contemporary room designs with views over the city skyline or the Nairobi National Park and two restaurants specialising in Kenyan cuisine.
Upper Hill has seen an increase in major construction in recent years, with several multinational corporations setting up their offices there.
They include the Kenyan headquarters of Citibank and the African Development Bank, the East and Central African headquarters of Coca Cola and the 22-storey office skyscraper the Rahimtulla Tower.
Another prominent occupant is the private-membership cricket organisation the Nairobi Club Ground. www.radissonblu.com/en/hotel-nairobi
